Caitlin was born into a military family, and has travelled around the world before she settled in Kapolei, Hawaii at age 10. Her interest in Ebola and the Plague led her to attended the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where she earned her BA in Microbiology. She, then, pursued a PhD in Tropical Medicine and Microbiology at John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she discovered she wanted to study breastmilk immunology. Her favorite assay is a viral neutralization assay. She is looking forward to being on the east coast and to seeing snow in New York!
